Time Lapse

I have seen time lapsing
and slowing,
as I try to hold back
your tears

I wasn’t the one,
you knew it but weren’t prepared,
like the land that isn’t ready for rain
and young for the inevitable death

still we played with fate
laughed at the fading dreams
for eternity and what extends
and waited for nothing,

Dread

I do dread
the ghostly shadows
flinching and playing
with the mirrors
making faces
a new one every time,
they whisper in the dark
and laugh mockingly
behind my back

I do not get angry though,
they at least show what they are up to
unlike us who do the same,
but pretend to be angels
all the time.
even in the light.

Heavy Souls

If souls could weigh,
would you quantify them in
for spirituality
love,
hate,
or goodness
within them,

Obviously we will,
to every soul departing
or to every soul suffering.
after all we are used to
quantifying everything
why leave the soul alone?

Raw Love

She had raw love
the one you don’t find easily,
the one that is hard to play with,
the one that destroys you.

but you will still keep asking for more
because it’s a poison
that would end your hidden sufferings

because she can make you believe
with her eyes and love
that you are missing something within

you don’t fear death now
you fear those eyes,
that love,
this life,
without her.

Jump

Watching the window
she smirked for the life she had
seeing children play
and the birds fly,
she stepped up and spread her arms
jumped without fearing the fall,

crashed in the bed
she layed still
with the brushes and paper flying off
to the ground below,
everyone thought the window was a beautiful painting,
but for her it was an escape
from everything.

Read

There would clouds and it would rain
the sky would be full of thunders,
the winds will howl one day,
but you should not be afraid
read books and write
as you do now

There would be failures
people laughing at work,
seeing you scribble in middle of the day,
dropping their egos like a-bombs on you,
when you ask for reviews
but you should not be afraid
read books and write
as you do now.

There will come a time
where you might be successful
people will read your work
maybe 10,20 or even thousands
never let the pride sink in,
but you should not be afraid still
read books and write
as you do now.
